About the Society Latest News

The 'Worcester Society of Artists' was formed to encourage the appreciation, understanding and practice of the visual arts and is open to everyone.
The Society was founded in 1947, moving to the Swan Theatre in 1965 for regular meetings and exhibitions. Still going strong, our aim is to inspire other artists, whatever their ability, with the more experienced members willing to help beginners.

The Society exhibits annually at Worcester City Art Gallery and meets most weeks at the Bromwich Road Mission. (Mondays at 7:30). There are demonstrations and lectures by professional artists, visiting lecturers and our own members. There are also many workshop evenings in portraiture, still life, life drawing and landscapes using various methods and media

Guests and new members are always welcome.

New Page: National Exhibitions I would personally recommend a visit to the Gallery at Compton Verney for the latest Exhibition (as listed on this page).

The St John's Library Exhibition
This will be set up on Friday, 1st of June. Please do not turn up with your paintings to exhibit unless you have already registered your intention to do so with Nigel Lee (Exhibitions Secretary), either at one of our weekly meetings, or by phone - see contact details.
